Meet the Winemaker
Bonomi, with a well-known expertise, is one of the new generations of winemakers committed to matching vineyard to grape variety. He has been recognized as the Winemaker of The Year by Tim Atkin, the well-known English Master of Wine and one of the main wine critics of the world, in his “Argentina 2020 Special Report.”
Sustainable production
Sustainability and care for the environment are concepts that guide all our work at the winery. A decade ago, Bodega Norton committed to making great changes to better protect our environment. All of our processes are certified according to international standards to guarantee the highest quality of our wines. And we were the first Argentinian winery to include our vineyards in those certifications in order to protect the one process we hold dear: the grow grapes and create wines. Our strong commitment to sustainability can be seen in action we take, such as: reducing our carbon emissions pioneering the development and use of ¨ecological bottles¨ to reduce the use of glass, conscious use of water, care for the ground where we plant vines and energy conservation.
Vegan Friendly
Before entering the bottle, a wine needs to be clarified and filtered prior to bottling so that the wine is not cloudy. A commonly used fining agent is a protein, an animal derived ingredient. But our wines use clay-based fining agents such as bentonite, which are particularly efficient at fining out unwanted proteins.
Therefore all wines below are Vegan.
Norton Colección de los Andes
Norton Colección Chardonnay
This chardonnay is refreshing with an expressive fruity and aromatic style. It shows a yellow color with green hues. With pear and tropical fruit aromas, in the mouth it’s clean with a fresh acidity providing a long finish.
Norton Colección Sauvignon Blanc
This Sauvignon Blanc has a citric, aromatic, and refreshing style. It is brilliant, pale yellow with bright green hues. It shows nice aromas of pink grapefruit and herbal notes. In the mouth it’s fresh with a very pleasant finish.
Norton Collección Torrontés
This Torrontés has a fruity, aromatic and refreshing style. It has a greenish yellow color while white jasmine and peaches can be found in its delicate aromas. In the mouth, it’s crisp and displays an outstanding freshness and intense taste
Norton Collección Malbec
This Malbec is a round, smooth and full-flavored wine. It has a purplish-red color and spicy aromas. Balanced with smooth tannins, rich plums and cherries can be found in its delicate flavors.
Norton Collección Merlot
This Merlot is a smooth, well integrated wine. It shows a ruby-red color, with intense aromas of cherries and raspberries. Elegant in the mouth, it is round, well balanced, with a pleasant finish.
Norton Collección Cabernet Sauvignon
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a lively ruby red colored wine, with a round and velvety structure. The palate is smooth with hints of roasted red bell pepper. Blackberries and ripe plums are found in its nice and concentrated bouquet.
SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY
We currently maintain and care for 108 houses, which enables our staff and their families to greatly improve their standard of living. Since 2009 we have been developing a volunteer program called “Norton solidarity” through which our staff have the opportunity to make donations and give their time to help those most in need. Through this program, several campaigns have been undertaken:
HARVES SOLIDARITY Collecting useful materials, school duscoats, books and everything needed to start the school year. ONE TOY, A THOUSAND SMILES Gathering together toys for donation to children’s hospitals and soup kitchens CHRISTMAS SOLIDARITY Collecting milk ,sugar and cocoa for those most in need.
COAS GOURMET In addition to the above, we have collaborated with COAS Gourmet for many years, whose main aim has been assisting public hospitals in Buenos Aires, and in Mendoza we have sponsored several schools and community kitchens.
EDUCATIONAL GOAL Lastly ,in 2011, we launched “Educational Goal”. This program seeks to provide employees and family members of the winery, who for various reasons were unable to complete their schooling, the opportunity to finish their education, and it gives them the tools to do so. In a joint effort between Bodega Norton and School Board of the Province of Mendoza, 53 people are already enrolled in the program.
